The Primal Hunter

The start of the novel is decent. World-building is also good. However, the pacing is incredibly slow. There's no depth in most characters, except for a few. The main character is always overpowered. Overall, I wouldn't recommend reading this unless you're stacking other novels.

Tbh, I like this novel, I like the small interactions between the characters and the fights, but what I think really makes this novel stand out is its power system. On the surface its just your usual novel with the system gimick, but after 100 chapters (I think) it starts diving into the way these powers work, and honestly its pretty juicy, it has all the cliche stuff but it justifies them and ties them in a way so intricate and logical together that I get wrapped up with info dumps. And yes, character development is not as good as other novels but I think its fine that way cuz the author seems to focus way more on the power development of things, and I'm fine with that, I like the focus on the power aspect of the novel, it makes the MC op but also justifies his power at the same time. Also when I say it justifies its powers well I mean REALLY WELL, it dives mariana trench level deep into the way people progress in power in their worlds, and I think this is what sets it aside from other novels who just has some surface level explanation of powers, NO, this novel is really the type to make you think that anything is possible, and actually makes you understand what the MC is doing when he's fighting. However I once againt reiterate, Character progression is little to none, characters are generally pretty cool in this light novel but if you're the type for character progression I won't recommend this to you (I will recommend Shadow Slave tho). In conclusion, read this if you like interesting power systems, and if you like character progression still read it Primal Hunter needs its Rank 3 back, and you can't just keep eating one type of food anyways.

This novel grabbed me pretty hard at the tutorial i was hyped even with the initial red flags (i will get further into that) really solid tutorial arc i would say Why 1 star? 1. horrendous vocabulary of characters + every character talks the same way except like 2 (bunch of edgy 12 year olds talking) 2. author is self projecting making harem but denying it possibly out of shame? lmao 3- insane bad pacing doom of a lot of novels ngl 4. 🐺jakes character is literally build about him being this primal hunter sigma who does everything by instinct and doesnt need brain apparently author keeps yapping about slavery and morality which is pretty annoying too i just cant read this anymore after like 600ch i made it this far just because im stacking my fav novels id like someone to honestly tell me why these points are invalid if you think so cuz 80% of reviews being 5/5 is utterly mad (overall this novel feels like some 15yo made his own self insert fantasy where he is this cool hunter with edgy friend and is surrounded by women but doesnt care about them cuz he sigma af

Wonderful book. It's definitely in my top 3, together with shadow slave and lord of the mysteries. it has very good characters and very good world building, in my opinion the fighting is also very good.

It was great at the start but it got bad after a few chapters. The world building is good. There's no character development, the MC is just a hypocrite, the rest of the characters just seem to have personalities convenient for the plot(s). The powers system makes no sense, levels and leveling up depend on the whims of the author. Skills are broken, stats don't mean a thing, blessings are given out randomly, side characters don't even grind to level up author just hands out their levels relative to the MC. To enjoy the novel, you'd need to ignore the plot armor and plot conveniences

Well over chapter 800, and must say - d*mn, so much sleep sacrificed, hours of work ditched… …and it was all worth the entertainment (well, arguably - for obvious reasons, RL tends to catch up with you). MC is fun as heck, language is sparkly and well polished, plenty of funny situations and excellent “Face Clap”. All in all full 5 stars. Well deserved top score.

I can't get how the author can make some good character and sone trash on fire and don't get the differences. I can't read every single chapter with Carmen bc this character sucks, and im scared by the idea that maybe the next arch I'm about to read is ALL with her. Not caring about Carmen I think that The Primal Hunter is pretty good, the author have a lot of imagination and every character get slowly better, everyone of them exempt Carmen

Peak word building, Peak side characters, Great MC, the fights are fire 🔥 I like it a lot The concept of the novel and the ideas are great.

Overall this is quite a lovely book. Good plot, nice flow, decent grammar, not much more to ask for. My only gripe would have to be with the fact that the author is pulling a common trope and making the MC good at both alchemy and fighting and splitting much of the time between the two. Not necessarily a bad thing but its not as skillfully pulled off as I would like, but really that's just a minor complaint. Overall its a nice binge-able story with a heck ton of readable chapters that you can sink your teeth into.

The story is good, the plot is unpredictable, and the world is semi-unique with the introduction of records, era universe integration, etc. , which pulls it apart from your generic system constellation flunk. Characters are developed well (though some could use work), although I don't appreciate how he seems to build a harem. I know the author attempted to address this by mentioning how Jake was aware, with even other characters joking, but he decided to add a god to the harem anyway. I genuinely like the story, but if there was one thing that brings it far below novels like Shadow Slave or LOTM, it is the carcass one-piece level sh*t* pacing. I find myself skipping chapters because I know that nothing impactful will happen. DESPITE THAT, if you have the patience, then I would say this is a GOOD READ, but it could be better in many ways.
