The protagonist, Ves, lacks depth, and his constant focus on mech design often slows down the plot. While the world-building is extensive, it feels heavy-handed and bogs down the story with unnecessary details. The political intrigue and technological aspects lack the complexity needed to keep the reader invested. Overall, the novel struggles to balance action with character development, making it a challenging and frustrating read for those seeking a more dynamic and engaging sci-fi experience. If you are hesitating on reading this novel because it's long, I recommend you give it a try. I'm at chapter 2500 right now and all I can say is the quality has only improved. The entire story is very creative and the world building is top tier. This novel does have a system but this one isn't your average generic system novel. I would definitely consider it to be one of the best novels I've ever read. I must say that the majority of people would consider the MC to be flawed in probably every way they can imagine. You might hate him but personally, I think the long term payout of reading this novel is worth the short term loss.

It is a slow-burn. Read until after ch 920, skim ch 400-900 if you must, after which this becomes much, much better. Author actually focuses on worldbuilding which is nice.

There's is parts of the story that are amazing, and there are parts that drag on for way to long. . . but there arent many of them. as a story that taken over a year to fully catch up, i defiantly dont regret starting this book. the character building as well as the world building are phenomenal with some characters. def worth the read if you enjoy these types of reads.

As someone who read till the latest, I can say that it gets boring many times yet this novel explores space & sciences much more than any other novels. Author goes deep into the world building and politics. Exploration of mechs is good but it's slowly becoming some other novel due to the latest power. The mech designer system is unlike any other.

I think, to be very honest, this story gets very uninteresting very quickly. Ves goes this cycle of going through various dangers and being under that pressure, going back home, and then having a lot he's able to do with the system. But at certain point you just. . . stop caring. Like, yeah he's at war, but he's going to be fine. Yeah, mech duel? He'll win that. I feel like it would be a little better if he was active in the battle as a mech designer and a pilot, because even though he's making the mechs, he doesn't really have a direct connection to them. I feel like it would be more interesting to see how his mechs go in action, and maybe even how they help the people in action. But no, we have through a contrived long dragging story where I feel like I've heard him escaping to space 10 times already, and all I can feel is complete apathy. This is a novel that I recommend to read when you have nothing else to. Because there is not interesting going on in the chapters. Combat isn't super interesting, what Ves has to do, or anything like that. I can very clearly see what's going to happen, and it's super boring to essentially wait for it to happen. This novel commits a great sin: being super boring. Even bad novels can be attention grabbing, or entertaining. This feels like having to read obtuse research papers

Read first 300 ish chapters and you will find it's a 5/5, but it's all downhill from there, the rest is utter garbage. It stops being about mechs for some insane reason??? MC's mom is the worst character in all of fiction. There is no character development, Mc acts the same at ch2000 as chapter 1. And then the author cooks up the second worst character in all of fiction, mc's wife. Stop reading before the war arc and you'll probably have a good time.

I can not get over how you say there is no character development. Every time I read this comment, I am absolutely shocked by this statement. I don't think any other novel I've read has had more character development then this novel. This entire review is a travesty.

PRAISE THE MECH! and whats the deal with the number 6?… - The MC is not OP. He makes mistakes. He fails. Sometimes BIG. But he keeps slowly growing. Some chapters rehash what you have already been told to make sure you understand what is about to be introduced, and sometimes there is a lot of world building necessary to bring the story to a larger stage. Interestingly besides some misspellings and similar sounding wrong words being used, there is an interesting trend. Some not so common expressions we use in English are slightly modified. This has the tendency to pull you out of the “universe” this story is set in, forcing you to realize that this is not our reality, or even a fictional future of our reality. In an odd way this actually has the effect of making this story more real as an alternate reality future. Or past? Who knows? But instead of kicking you out of the story it draws you in deeper. An interesting trick in the writing. Overall the writer is a master of their craft!

nah Bro Praise the Fool

Before you read this book, I want everyone to know that this is a slow burn, the author does not shy away from long-winded explanations, yet in the end, it is worth it. This is a true space opera, while ves (Main character) is paranoid and seemingly arrogant at times, the author tells us and shows us why he acts like this, if there is character development needed, the author will fit it in and build upon it very well. In my opinion this is one of the best novels I’ve read and on this site. It is a slow burn, but the best slow burn I’ve seen executed. I would suggest reading it. There are points you may feel annoyed with the “filler” however it is needed as to world build, which the author has done amazingly well on. My suggestion is read it, many people sadly drop during a specific arc which is early on (chapters 400-900) due to its length, however those who remain know that it is worth it.

Worth the time even be 6000+ chapters. The core of the novel is that he builds Mechs for other people to fight for him. There are one or two arcs that get below 6-7 But all the rest of them get 9+
