No downtime only the formula. The resolution to social drama is vaguely noted after the event, making side characters and romance less and less important. The MC is less horny, vengeful, callous, and insufferable than most "bumbling wife collectors". The naming of stuff is inconsistent but the uses and limits are vague enough to stop plot holes. The powers are strong but not so OP as to be boring and indescribable. The events aren't hollow and you can expect many little things to be relevant sooner or later.
