((Contains minor spoilers)) Interesting premise, eh execution. I like the DnD style and the idea of journeying across Pandea to recover his pieces and become a supreme being and then Ascend to challenge and get revenge against the gods. The first 200 or so chapters were enjoyable for me, great characters, great stories, ok world building, a lot of info dumps but I'm the type who likes reading em. After 200 chap or so (Seol hong arc) however the pacing gets so convoluted I'm not sure whether the author even knows where is he going with this story. I had to force myself to read up to this point. Also my biggest pet peeves in novels are when the author introduces systems that ends up completely redundant because they can't write a good scenario to use them anymore or they just forgot. Oh wow the MC gets a passive skill + titles that gives extra skill points, surely he's gonna use those extra skill points right? Well it has been over 200 chapters and around 1 year ish in the story and the MC still hasn't used em. Stat page? Does that even exist anymore? The stream? The only way to generate madness which is the reason why this story started in the first place? Karen and Karuna and Ur also hasn't showed up for 100 chaps at this point. Agony also went quiet after the Seol hong arc. Janet the merchant only showed up 3 times despite the MC generating the most madness out of everyone. The adventures also gets a little repetitive once you see the pattern. There's also a bunch of other plot holes but you just gotta turn off your brain and enjoy the stories. I'll give it 3. 5 ⭐

The first chapters may feel a bit weird, but it gets better. It feels like the author knows how to do great one shots cuz most of the good parts of the novel come from the short stories in it

Although he does have a cliche class, the story doesnt revolve around it all like in SL, and is instead focused on the bonds between him and his shadows.

There’s a reason most people drop this by the tenth chapter. I’d say the premise is one of the most promising I’ve ever seen, but the execution… Maybe it’s the translation, but the characters and dialogue are a complete mess. The story’s got flashes of greatness from time to time, but the author definitely needs some seasoning. Newer readers would probably love this story—I know I would’ve a few years ago. But for experienced readers, it’s a slog to get through. Give it a go regardless, you might like it. Again I’ll reiterate the premise is one of the greatest I’ve experienced.

I really liked the novel, I felt a little bored at the khan territory area but other than that it was really good. Mc is not just a niche boring heroic guy.

It's good, not so good in comparison with other top novels, but if you have free time and you already read some of the top tier novels, I recommend that you read this, I just don't like the characters that always win

Great story. Don’t let the low amount of reviews fool you, in terms of writing it’s only one tier lower than novels like SS and LOTM. MC has actual flaws (because he was more playing DnD than controlling his characters directly) and a bunch of cool powers that I’ve never seen before that also have potential. If I had to pick faults, it’s that there’s really no one from earth even close to MCs strength and none of their choices seem to have nearly as much impact as the MCs. Don’t get me wrong, it does make sense given the context (especially since he can’t help people using his knowledge) so it’s not like it’s bad writing; I just prefer novels like SS where the MC isn’t the main player 100% of the time. Those are mainly minor things that are much more a result of the setting than bad writing though, so it doesn’t feel forced and I still think it’s a top-tier novel. Also the one guy who rated it a 4/5 only did it because the site wouldn’t let him give it a 5/5 lol.

They’re developed in a completely different way, which is why I said that

I don't usually try writing reviews, but the bonus episodes at the end of this novel's first season made me sure that this story deserves another 5/5. Great pacing, not a moment in the novel gets too boring. The character dynamics are interesting and endearing. The satisfaction you get from watching Seol and his summons grow makes this novel addicting. The amount of character growth you will see crammed into a few chapters is astonishing (Especially visible around ch100, penance and the 1st season's ending). What the author is able to put into a few lines from Jamad would be enough to make a whole another novel about. The only real criticism for this novel I would agree with is that the 'comments' in the novel are annoying sometimes. It's like torturing you with a required reading of some twitch chat. That's not enough to bring this down from a 5/5 though. That's in the case that the second season doesn't fall off, which I think it won't.

*This review contains slight spoilers, although it isn't anything that will ruin the story or change your view on it* | The novel's world-building, pacing, and character depth are all very well written. Unlike many novels, the character's personalities and rational are very consistent, and thought the MC is overpowered, there is good reason for it and he doesn't breeze through every challenge either. It very original the way that the author links all of the MC's past actions with his current timeline. I would also really recommend the comic version, however, the novel version definitely has more detail.
