Book 2: Redemption of Righteousness Chapter 168: The Fishman’s Main Force
Dao Hen arrived at the army barracks.
He was wounded and holding a man’s head in his hand.
It was the city guard commander’s head.
The ultimate winner of the two silvers’ duel was Dao Hen.
Among the invading silver level fishmen, Dao Hen was publicly known to be the strongest!
Gong Bo was leading his subordinates in the bitter siege of the guard barracks, and when he saw Dao Hen rushing over to provide support, he was naturally ecstatic.
After the two used the fishmen tongue to communicate, the city guard commander’s head was thrown into the barracks.
The soldiers were immediately disturbed, and their morale took a hit.
“Don’t lose your heads!”
“Even though the Lord Commander is dead, we still have the Feudal Lord!”
“The Feudal Lord has already escaped, these fishmen will surely be defeated.”
“We can defend this place; we have the light cannon tower behind us!!”
Very quickly, the soldiers were no longer wavering and their morale stabilized.
Hong Bo sighed.
Dao Hen clapped his shoulder. After some observation, he decided to camouflage himself, stealthily approach the barracks from the southeast corner, then launch a surprise attack.
His plan succeeded.
He plunged into the people through a gap.
As silver level battle skills were used, he quickly looked like a silvery light that chopped human soldiers to bits wherever it went.
When it came to assaulting a fortified position, cultivators always had a powerful impact.
The barracks were barely able to hold off the silver level Hong Bo.
Dao Hen increased the pressure on them, and in the end, their defenses broke.
A rout in one area would spur a rout in the entire front line.
The fishmen took advantage of this to wildly attack, bursting through a wall in the barracks.
The light cannon turret in the barracks shot white light, each one able to kill a hundred fishmen.
But the dauntless fishmen were unafraid of death, and they advanced wave up wave.
“Be careful, he’s charging in!”
“Block them.”
“Ah…”
Dao Hen had killed his way into the center of the b arracks, withstanding every human soldier, for none was his match.
Hong Bo led the wild attack from the backline, admiring Dao Hen’s lone figure as he dove into the enemy troops.
“His target is the turret.”
“Protect the turret!”
The city guard’s few iron level leaders braced themselves and advanced to stop Dao Hen.
Dao Hen sneered, and in spite of his body, he exchanged injuries for lives.
With one hand, he killed two iron levels.
The other leaders wavered, and for a moment their morale shook, almost ready to run away.
At that critical moment, a divine spell soared through the air and fell onto the iron level leaders.
The iron level leaders’ injuries quickly healed.
Then, many more divine spells fell.
When the pleasantly surprised human soldiers looked to who it was, they saw the Wealth church priest leading a dozen clergymen along with thirty holy bodyguards rushing over to provide support.
The divine spells didn’t just apply their effects, they also greatly increased morale.
Although the human soldiers were wounded, with divine spells taking care of them, their injuries were quickly recovering. That made them fight more courageously.
By contrast, when the fishmen saw the wounds their comrades had inflicted at the cost of their lives melt away, their hearts inevitably felt setback and despondence.
Dao Hen sighed to himself again.
He had definitely sensed that the humans were about to fall, but the clergy had saved them all.
Hong Bo had already yelled himself hoarse during this fierce battle.
When the Wealth priest and the others appeared, he had immediately responded by ordering his people to kill them.
But the other side had holy bodyguards, while at the same time, other human soldiers quickly came to the rescue, reducing Hong Bo’s attempt on their lives to nothing.
Thus, things for the fishmen were getting worse.
Although they currently held the advantage, it was only because they had numbers.
With the clergy healing and assisting, the human soldiers would lose minimal battle strength.
The two races had different strengths and weaknesses, and at this moment, the cruel battlefield showed them in great detail.
The fishmen had far inferior talent to the humans.
They had a far lower percentage of casters in their race compared to the humans.
In this part of the barracks battlefield, the humans had clergy helping, while they didn’t.
The Blue Green Coral clan had many casters.
But they were precious, and had been placed in the underground, used to construct the auction hall trap.
The auction hall had been broken, and in the subterranean depths, the fishmen there had been turned to shriveled corpses.
There was a coral ball cage tree branch in each of the corpses’ hearts.
Their magic power and vitality had been dedicated to the cause.
They had been sacrificed.
While the mysterious purple scaled fishman disappeared with a trace.
The port nearby.
Qi You and the other pirates showed mixed feelings.
Hun Tong was still floating in the air.
The light cannon towers had been raised, and One Eye was leading the patrol fleet over, the scales were tilting towards the humans.
The pirates were intimidated and didn’t dare to act blindly without thinking.
Hun Tong wasn’t the slightest complacent.
He knew the enemy’s full strength hadn’t appeared yet.
He was waiting.
But Er Gua Zi wasn’t.
He broke a human sailor’s neck while surveying in the direction of the old island.
Two Eyes Island’s patrol fleet looked like a fierce tiger pouncing into the chaotic maritime battlefield.
Er Guia Zi was a veteran island commander, and had abundant experience in naval battles, he knew that although the patrol fleet wasn’t that big, in the chaotic battlefield, these fresh troops would have an astonishing effect on the battle.
He wasn’t able to reorganize his ships any more.
The Vinegar Jar Pirates’ ships were all entangled with other ships, you and I, I and you.
The flagship Vinegar Jar had even charged onto shore!
There were benefits to this too.
The light cannon turret that rose in the port was only able to shoot Vinegar Jar Pirate ships on the periphery during its first wave of firing.
If the light cannon turret opened fire at will, it was liable to injury allies on accident.
Er Gua Zi pondered and decided not to swim towards the fresh patrol fleet to stop it, but rather towards Two Eyes Island.
As a gold level, his every move garnered much attention.
“He’s charging in!” Hun Tong’s gaze focused.
Hun Tong soon called to mind, “It seems the patrol fleet won’t arrive for a bit.”
As expected, a moment later, an alchemy device transmitted, “Feudal Lord, we have detected that there is a fishman army and magic beasts in the ocean, a gold level aura has also been detected!”
“The fishmen’s main force.” When Hun Tong heard this bad news, his worry instead decreased by a lot.
The time before arrows were fired was when they were the most threatening.
Hidden cards had been revealed, and so Hun Tong immediately replied.
He sincerely stated, “Distinguished Song Shou, please deal with the Vinegar Jar Pirate commander.”
Song Shou didn’t hesitate and instantly nodded his agreement, “We human feudal lords naturally must keep watch and defend each other, let me judge how fine this fishman fighter is.”
Since the auction hall, Song Shou supported Hun Tong.
If he wavered now, it would reduce the friendship between them.
Song Shou naturally wasn’t stupid.
He didn’t have a flying battle skill, so he jumped his way over and entered the port in a dozen seconds.
When the humans and fishmen nearby saw the gold level fighter arriving, they all withdrew independently.
This battlefield was set aside for the showdown between gold level cultivators.
Song Shou stood on the shore, no longer advancing.
He didn’t want to fight the gold level fishman in the water. On land, he had the advantage.
When Hun Tong saw Song Shou sternly standing, he turned to say to Yan Ding, “Distinguished Yan Ding, I need your strength now to deal with the Blue Green Fishman clan elder. I shall reward you handsomely afterwards!”
Yang Ding was outwardly a mercenary, but in reality he was an imperial secret spy.
He and Hun Tong were working together.
Yang Ding nodded and jumped away.
He spouted smoke from his nostrils.
Black ashen smoke supported his tall and sturdy body, carrying him forward.
From the skies, Yang Ding quickly discovered that a gigantic oceanic beast was floating up.
In the water, a black shadow was constantly getting bigger.
After a few seconds, there was a rumble.
A huge animal broke through the ocean surface, causing heavy ocean spray with ample might.
It was a gigantic whale.
Its body appeared flat, it emitted strong chilliness, and it had a silver level life aura.
The ocean magic beast – Freeze Army Whale!
On the Freeze Army Whale’s flat back was the fishman’s main force.
There was densely packed fishmen as far as the eye could see, at least two thousand of them.
At the forefront of the fishman army was a two meter tall old fishman.
He was covered in green scales, leaning on a crutch, and stooped over. From his fishman gills there were many dark green kelps that dragged down to his feet, they looked like a beard and long hair.
His gold level aura was unmistakable.
It was the one Hun Tong always had on his mind, the Blue Green Coral fishman clan’s old elder!
The old clan elder gazed towards the new island, towards Hun Tong, then moved his crutch.
The Frozen Land Whale beneath him gave a long wail, and with a tremendous wave, charged directly towards the old island.
How strange, instead of helping on the new island, he instead chose to charge towards the nearly sunk old island.
Hun Tong’s brows greatly furled at this moment.
This action didn’t make sense.
For a moment, Hun Tong couldn’t make out what the old fishman elder was intending.
However, even though he couldn’t make out the enemy’s intentions, devising every way and mean to destroy it would be fine.
Hun Tong instantly ordered One Eye to not come to the new island for the time being, but instead to stop the main fishman army as much as possible.
One Eye received the order and altered the patrol fleet’s course at once.
Ships turned sideways, exposing rows of firing slits.
Boom, bang boom…
A moment later the cannons exploded and rumbled.
Artillery shells soared through the air in a parabola, heading straight towards the fishman’s main army.
The fishmen had been prepared for this.
The Frozen Land Whale cried, and from its air hole sprayed a large stream of sea water.
The sweater was like a gigantic umbrella that covered the skies above the Freeze Army Whale.
Some of the artillery shells that struck the gigantic umbrella exploded on impact, while others managed to get through, however, their momentum was greatly decreased and were easily hit out of the sky by the fishmen.
The gigantic umbrella gradually expanded and stretched downwards.
A half spherical water bubble protected the fishmen completely.
This was the Freeze Army Whale’s racial magic – Large Bowl Water Cover.
As a silver level magic beast, humans of the same level couldn’t compare to their magic power.
It was a difference between races.
