Until I regressed.

I'd like to ask you guys. I'm on my fifth cycle of MC regression, and so far, the story's concept is good, but story-wise, the book is lifeless. The MC always acts like a good guy, but he will kill and train assassins (who killed his team in the previous round) if given the order (the MC has the soul of a corporate slave fr). For example, the MC will explain that his student x likes y, but we never get any interaction between x and y. f*ck, let alone that, we don't even have a clear depiction of all the MC's acquaintances in the 5 rounds, how he interacts with them, only with Kim is the MC shown interacting. The 4th round is supposed to depict the sad moment where the MC has to fight against his team (the emperor's bodyguards) and the MC's anger towards the prince. But because of the lack of interaction between us and these characters, I couldn't care (couldn't feel the MC's feelings at that moment), so the scene just felt dull. So again, is this going to get better?

I had high hopes after reading 1st few chapters, Then I realized that the Mc is such a hypocrite, and this is a sorry excuse to imitate omniscient reader's Viewpoint, Idk if it's bc it's only his 6,7th regression Mc doesn't understand, the dark side of the regression like what happenes to the guy who regress in ORV After 1k years is Mc gonna be the same hypocrite who need thought reason to hurt somone while he easily can behead and bath in blood of bandits and cultivators? Ans what's up with the cultivators it's like all cultivators are born evil pure evil devils while martial artists and mortal as saints or angels It's like cultivators are personifications of arrogance and unreasonable (does author even realise how unrealistic his characters are) Even though reality is unreasonable it stills has logic but a novel which is supposed to make reality make reason is illogic itself Mc is 350+ years old after 6th cycle Bruuuhhhh I liked he theme

His mentality is innately different from Yu junheok.(I mispelt his name). While Gun man will kill himself if he think he cannot save his friends in this regression. The mc of this novel won't. Even if he all his freinds and family die he will still try to live in the end. That's what makes him different. He thinks that every time he regrreses the people he meets are different from those he is familiar with. Thus he trues to live every reggresion as his last. That's what makes him different from ither regrresor's. And let me warn you this is gonna annoy you a lot in the future. So I would say if you don't like his mentality you shouldn't continue. Because this is a huge part of the novel. But I would say one thing this novel lives up to the hype. I would certainly recommend you to continue

I like the novel but not the Mc He just only thinks about the present, he never hesitate to provoke bigger guys, he has no regard for the future concerning himself After he joined his 1st cultivation clsn he met Kim Young guy in a contest as a representative of ji family and then Mc just revealed that he is a martial artist, he knows how much cultivators hate martial artists yet he just put him self in disadvantage

Cultivators don't hate martial artists bro? They think they are red ants that bite while mortals are black ants. If they hated martial artists, they would not exist. If you are talking about heart tribe then that is a different matter altogether and I would have to spoil to explain it.

For Seo Eun-hyeon regression is a curse and his true goal is to die, it's a little weird, but that's his goal, and it's understandable, I think by this point you've seen what he feels like being forgotten by his relationships, however, his regression is ultimately one of the most broken powers in this story, his personality is not going to change as such, he is not going to be one of those who kill everyone or become corrupt, he will always be part of the righteous path and that will be strengthened by several things that you will see later. Another point is the cultivating humans, that is explained, and the thing about martial artists also has an explanation, even in the future martial artists will have suicidal tendencies, which is why many do not practice it, which the work explains. In this first part, many things are omitted or explained in a somewhat vague way, but they are mostly about the suffering and effort that Seo Eun-hyeon undergoes and how, little by little, through pract

(I didn't say I want him to become a villian and kill everyone, idk why but everybody just replies the same as you replied about killing when somone questions Mc's decisions stereotypes I suppose being to be edge lords) Does he not feel like what that guy from Orv felt that if my friends die today I'll save the in next round mentality and face those regression existential crisis If you have read ORV you will understand what i mean, the whole regression thing adds nothing more to his personality, than regression and staring over I mean being I in a loop where u see ur friends constantly die every time and then in next day they are all alive again will slowly change your perspective towards life cmon he is human even us on earth will be greatly changes depending on the environment we live and Mc has a constant personality throught the entire novel? Unrealistic

It’s easy to overlook, but in the early chapters, it’s mentioned that the MC actually lived out a full, normal human life after arriving in this world. It wasn’t some grand, world-shaking existence...but it was enough for him But here’s the catch: Unlike others who use their regression to chase power, fix the past, or prevent tragedies, he doesn’t want to change the world. He just wants to live meaningfully. His biggest fear isn’t failure...it’s forgetting, or worse, losing the people and bonds he forms in each cycle. That’s the heart of it: he doesn’t treat each loop like a playground for optimization. He treats every connection, every moment, like it's permanent...even though he knows it’s not. That’s where the tragedy lies. He’s not an edge lord trying to save the world or become a god. He’s a tired human being who’s painfully aware that every time he starts over, the people he loved don’t remember him...but he remembers everything.

No, he does not have the same ideology as Kim as he didn't read the entire novel like Kim did. If YOU have read ORV you would know ultimately Kim was striving for the perfect ending, which was a happy ending, which is also why he kept sacrificing himself. Seo considers everyone he meets in every regression to be an altogether different, sure they are fundamentally the same person but at the same time the new ones in the newer regression are not the ones from before.

You are correct I thought time turns back when he regress but it seems it doesn't it's only himself in the world that tracks back to anther parallel timeline since after his death the world continues Anyhow thank you both of you for clarifying and being helpful, I just think the novel would have been perfect with that guy from orv but it's alright with Mc I suppose Idk Tha guys name from orv

Regression timeloop there's I like Mother of Learning. (Mage novel) You can also try a cosmic horror (thriller with high tension) that more focus on items and their mastery: Escaping the Mystery Hotel I prefer these two novels because mc are normal people that gradually getting better (at their power and their brain). If you can only read one, read the first. It is completed and on this website.

don't let the low chapter numbers decieve you... author took 9 years to write and polish the story; the chapters are long and the story is compelling, it will keep you occupied for quite a while honestly one of the greatest online books i have ever read (also if you do read it, please read it on a certain site to support the author, it's for free there) (just google Mother of learning and go to first result) also maybe don't type drunk bro

Here are other drinks: my longevity simulation, mother of learning, the perfect run (these are all drinks with the ingredients of a smart mc, however the main flavour is regression). There's a fanfic I actually like very much, the MC is very cunning and smart. It's called Naruto: the Wind Calamity

I've been stacking for a long time now but I occasionally check the novel and I'm glad that a lot more people are starting to discover this gem... and for people still on the fence, with probably the exception of RI, I think I can beat my chest and say that this is the best cultivation webnovel and it's not even close, and if you like LOTM, you have no excuse not to like this by default. Also don't think after just reading a few chapters would let you know why people say it's good. If you're not in it for the long haul, might want to pause until when you're ready...

I have to reread and reflect on this story, because like Lotm, rereading it is fascinating because with the right context you understand much more. For me, this novel is great and honestly, these last chapters are amazing, and the fights in the last chapters, although they are no longer realistic, I love them as such. Tell me that The Connection to All Things begins to sing the mantra. That left me enchanted and I reread it like 10 times.

I mean i'm reading this novel slowly and rn i'm only at the 6th cycle, this is very deep and emotional, despite the fact that i'm reading this slowly i enjoy every f*ck*ng chapter and Mc is likeable, still keeping his humanity after all this sh*t you can only admire him.So i want to ask Does he find any clues or anything about his power and how to get back to his World or not yet??

    • Horny_Saint 3

In the latest chapters. Yes he knows now the way to go back. But the way is blocked by a pretty sturdy door with a damned f*ck*ng gatekeeper. As for his regression ability. In the raws he figures everything about how he got it and who gave it to him and what to do with it.

Theory: 1: For anybody who knows about enders, we all know that they each have the same fates which influences everything about them to have similarities but each different right Aswell as different identity's and lifes, but basically we all know the obsidian heavenly devil king and mc share the same fate being desire but what if the concept of enders as a whole is a set of different timelines and there outcomes with similarities based off there end and same characters? my reasoning is when you look at obsidian devil heavenly king his story and mcs share some EXTREMELY common themes: Pain, symbolic references such as the snake as well as the Wheel and Axis heavenly Venerables but aside from that there's also potential foreshadowing in it as well as well as a common goal with mc's heart manifestation wanting freedom and obsidian desiring to go home after realizing his fate and his lover dying by a "snake" aswell as there similar ability's

    Reply
    • Horny_Saint 3

Brother "Snake" is less symbolic and more literal. "Den of snake" probably killed obsidian's lover if not the black snake himself. And no their abilities arent similar. Its due to the flawless mantra obsidian reincarnated 999 times. In 50/60 chaps Seo too will master the flawless mantra by reincarnating 999 times
