Reincarnated As A Fox With System (WN)

Read before, attempting to re read years later, but it drags too much. A good read if you only wanna do a couple chapters a day, but is quite painful to try to binge.

So it's unfortunate but the early chapters of this story are just really bad if you're not a huge fan of super cliché this Young Master this Queen this Seat etc. etc Tianxia tropes. To start with (I don't think I need to spoiler something that happens in the first chapter), Tang is reincarnated to a Tianxia world as a teenager who worked herself to death trying to provide for her comatose brother. Does she use her painful experiences to be thoughtful and careful? Does she worry about what's going to happen to her brother? Nope. Just completely ignore anything about her pre-reincarnation life after chapter 1, because the story certainly does. Instead she has the personality of a 12 year old chuuni with a very dubious grasp of reality. I will say that this story does get better later on, and at some point it even remembers her backstory (briefly). But you have to wade through a lot of mediocrity in order to reach that point. It's too bad because I really love kitsune. Later on she becomes less. . . stupid, though still not terribly bright. I do like the setting, specifically how kitsune and other demonic beasts have their own societies. While demonic beasts having their own civilizations isn't super uncommon in Tianxia, getting their actual point of view is. I also like the evolution system, though MC's evolutions are kind of absurdly overpowered. I particularly like how each demonic beast gets one power per evolution (retaining the powers from previous ones) and thus they have to use their very limited powers to accomplish many different things, as opposed to having a dozen or so powers that do one thing. Ironically, this very thing I like doesn't apply to the main character, except for her first big power which is actually quite versatile. She has so many abilities, I'm pretty sure the author forgets about a solid 50% of them in any given fight. She never really tries to master them either, which is disappointing. The beginning of this story is 2/5, can't justify any higher. Later on it becomes 4/5 by Tianxia novel standards, so I've averaged it out to 3.

It is a story well mixed with cliched irritating plots annoying moments and exciting and thrilling development if i was to use one word its amazing The story development starts from a traumatic past while the protagonist is no more than a child its not like a 30-40 y old unstable middle aged man to go in isekai so don't expect too much maturity The protagonist development is awesome some find she is a pushover but she played the part too good the childish moments when she excited and dumb founded moments are the moments for slice of life The romance it is as good as it gets too many plot twists like at this point the whole world is helping them to get together The skills will never let you down and the pets are more than just companions and the plot thickens as the story goes like i felt 700 chapters too short Sometimes it may be irritating but thats just the part of development you can cuss and vent in comment lol 😂

I’ve been fully aware since the first couple chapters that this wasn’t the absolute best novel I’ve ever read, but I still always look forward to reading it. If I had to guess, it’s probably because the story has a lot more depth in the world building, characters, and divine powers than your average novel and does so in unique ways. There isn’t anything in this novel that I didn’t find genuinely enjoyable to read (except for the clingy ML of course, but tbh that’s just me being picky since plenty of people enjoy those things and the author doesn’t spend more time on him then they should). I’d recommend binging it when you’re bored of the quantum physics LOTM and SS like to mess around with and just want to read something fun, but also genuinely good. Also, I honestly can’t emphasize enough how nice it is for a novel to acknowledge that a 2-year-old MC is lacking in technique/experience compared to everyone else without immediately making it trivial.

I quite like the cultivation aspect of this novels and the evolution of the beast. I’m happy that the novel got new chapters after 2 years but the fox training event is really dragging out and a little boring aside from that it’s a nice read.

It’s a good fun and lighthearted novel to read but by no means do I suggest it if want something more serious. The MC has the IQ of a preteen despite the author stating that the fox species are known for their high intelligence. My biggest peeve this whole story has been that MC received some crazy good items and skills and NEVER uses them. Her inscription pen for example is a divine artifact. Now with her martial arts voucher you’re gonna tell me she can’t find a martial art to use it. She only uses it to write inscriptions when she needs money. Stupid. Her basics are also terrible. In the very beginning, when she was in the asura demon sect she spammed her basic skills to max them out. Why hasn’t been doing that? She should have been practicing her imperial arts in her bloodline (can be used in fox and human form) which open new skills when the previous one is mastered. I think the author gave her too many things to accomplish in a very short time and now she’s mediocre at using all of them but she hasn’t really mastered anything.

The novel itself is decent. It is a cultivation novel with humans and beasts. The strong are strong, the weak are weak. MC sits in the middle with the author trying to keep her power in check. They do not always do a perfect job at it, but I believe they are aware of their shortcomings and try to rectify them in the latest arc. The MC is a fox and is derpy af, she has quite a few stupid moments but is slowly growing. She gives me nanomancer vibes. The novel is a romance novel, but as of right now, MC is under the impression she is a queen picking up her concubines. I find it enjoyable since I do not 100% like any of the male leads thus far. I am sure at some point a single ML will be picked. It has yet to be seen if the author will not run the story into the ground when doing so though.

I enjoyed the story quite a bit it was overall pretty good however it is a little bit too slow and there are ways to many pets in my opinion however this inst a problem in its self however when the MC is being out shined constantly by their pets it becomes frustrating

I think this novel has unexpectedly made me an isekai addict. The evolution aspect is what actually made me enjoy this a lot. The fox hunting dimension arc(the current one) is super boring but the evolution that will come after that is whats keeping me fired up lol

I think this novel is pretty good. The characters are really cute and nice to read. Especially the main character. I love how she doesn’t back down which causes tonnes of misunderstandings that are funny to see. Thanks for the great novel author :)
